Crews Respond to House Fire

At 01:45 Franktown Fire was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 5424 Craftsman Dr. in the Pradera sub-division. Upon arrival of the first unit, firefighters found a well-involved fire burning in the basement. Fire crews worked quickly and were able to contain the fire to the basement area. Six people were home at the time of the fire but were able to escape when they were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors in the house. Franktown Fire was assisted by help from South Metro Fire. All together twenty five firefighters responded with seven fire apparatus. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

At 06:07 Franktown Fire received a report of a Commercial Fire Alarm at 5225 Raintree Drive, the Pradera Country Club. The call was quickly upgraded to a Commercial Structure Fire when a call to 911 reported smoke in the building. When the first fire unit arrived on scene they found a single sprinkler head controlling a small fire in the golf cart storage portion of the building. Crews were able quickly extinguished the remaining fire with a fire extinguisher. The fire had started in a clothes dryer and because of the sprinkler system, the fire did not extend any further. 7 fire units and 16 firefighters responded to the incident.

Fire Crews Respond to House Fire
On February 16, 2010 at 9:23 p.m. Franktown Fire responded on a report of a residential structure fire. Crews arrived within 6 minutes from the time the first call was placed to 911. Crews were able to contain the fire to a single bedroom. Franktown Fire received help from Castle Rock Fire and Rescue and South Metro Fire Authority. 21 firefighters and 10 apparatus were on scene.
